500Words Launched by Joel Comm
Joel Comm, the Adsense guru and the author of Adsense Secrets, today launched his new venture, 500words inspired by milliondollarhomepage.com.
He has put an interesting twist. Instead of selling pixels, he is selling words. Since words provide a keyword rich linkback, people will be more apt to buy these terms. His large list of newsletters subscribers will also lap up the terms pretty quickly.
Even I got excited and have bought the term Webmasters and Adsense
Update:
We have also launched an improved version (better look and feel, much lesser clutter with only 97 tags, better SEO benefit) at 97tags.com. You can order custom tags also at the same price, so choose your favorite one or get a new one.
Update II:
Would you like to create your own sites like 97tags.com or 500words.com? Get an inexpensive script at WordSiteBuilder and you are ready to go.

Hi,
Actually, the 500Word page from Joel Comm is a copycat from “The 1000-Word Page” (http://www.1000wordpage.com) that we launched a few days ago and that has already generated quite some buzz in the media and blogosphere.
We are very flattered to have someone as famous as Joel Comm imitating our concept since it confirms we had an original and innovative positioning. We think however that we will generate more traffic than the copycats (ours is more than doubling day to day) since our positioning strikes a better chord with the media and blogs. They like the fact that we are 2 marketing students using this new concept at the cross-road of online business and artistic experimentation to make some money to pay back our loans, give to a charity that sends computers to Africa and invest in new business ideas that we have…
The 1000-Word page Team
I think the whole concept is a copycat and not so sure these students are all that original. People have been buying word links on pages for years. There’s nothing new there. But if I were going to choose between the two, I think the 500 word page is a better application. It also seems to have sold many more words. It goes to show you. Pioneers rarely get the glory. It’s the marketers who make the dough.
